Stranded Loose Tube Armored Cable

The GYTA53 Stranded Loose Tube Armored Cable comes in a structure that has a 250μm optical fiber that's placed inside a loose tube. It is made of high-modulus material and is filled with waterproof compounds to keep the moisture away. The cable core includes a metal strengthening element, and for optical cables with certain core counts, an additional layer of polyethylene (PE) is extruded around this metal strengthening core for enhanced protection.

The loose tubes and filling materials are helically wrapped around the central strength member, forming a compact, round cable core. And the gaps within the core are filled with water-blocking materials. Then the cable is longitudinally wrapped using aluminum-plastic coated aluminum tape (APL), and over this, the polyethylene inner sheath is extruded. The structure is further reinforced by longitudinally wrapping it with a double-sided coated steel tape (PSP). To complete the cable construction, the polyethylene outer sheath is extruded.

Application: This makes the cable preferable for installation in ducts, aerial spans, and direct burial applications.

Key Properties and Advantages

  • Excellent mechanical properties and temperature characteristics for optimal performance.

  • Loose tube material offers high strength and resists hydrolysis.

  • A tube filled with special oil-based gel protects the optical fibers.

  • Offers compressive strength to handle mechanical pressures

  • Excellent flexibility for easy handling and installation.

Key Performance Features Based on Waterproof

  • Features a single steel wire as the central strength member, providing support to the structure.

  • Consists of a loose tube filled with waterproof compounds to keep away moisture.

  • 100% filled cable core to enhance the overall performance.

  • The coated aluminum tape (APL) acts as the moisture barrier layer.

  • Double-sided coated steel tape to enhance the cable's resistance to moisture penetration.

  • High-quality water-blocking materials prevent longitudinal water ingress in the cable.

Frequently Asked Questions

Have questions about our products? Here are a few common frequently asked questions for you
1. What is a Stranded Loose Tube Armored Cable?

It is a type of fiber optic cable that offers protection against environmental and mechanical damage. It is made to be used outdoors to withstand environmental conditions.

2. What is the difference between armored cable and unarmoured cable?

Armoured Cables are directly buried and laid underground to protect against environmental factors. But unarmoured cables are not suitable for burial or use in other demanding applications and installations.

3. What is Stranded Loose Tube Armored Cable best for?

They are best for outdoor environments that need durability and protection, avoiding physical or environmental damage. They can be buried directly in soil or trenches, best for aerial installations on poles, and ducted pathways in urban infrastructure.

4. What does hydrolysis resistance mean for the loose tube material?

The loose tube material is created in a way to withstand chemical breakdowns that are caused by exposure to water or moisture. So the cable remains reliable over a long time, in wet or humid environments.

5. Can these loose tube cables be installed indoors?

They are primarily made for outdoor use, but can be used indoors where extra mechanical protection is necessary.

6. How can I get the technical data sheet for these cables?
To consult the technical data on this cable, provide us with your contact details by filling out the form given. Our team will share the document and will assist you with any specific queries.
7. Can I order them in bulk?
